delaWHERE?

I’m going home again in three days for fall break! I’m very excited since I wasn't planning on my mom getting me a plane ticket because she had just gotten me one for last weekend.
But anyway, since I get to go home, I have nothing but Delaware on my mind. And since most people don’t know a thing about Delaware (they probably don’t even know that Delaware is its own a state - the First State at that), I figured I’d write my blog this week on my thoughts of good old little Delaware!
Growing up in Delaware, I took the state for granted. But living in Mississippi for these past three months made me realize how amazing of a state Delaware really is. I’m not degrading Mississippi at all - I just love and miss Delaware.
Delaware is a Northeastern coastal state that has only three counties and one major city and its capital is Dover. It is the second smallest state and one of the most unknown places on the planet. If people don’t already think that Delaware is a part of Pennsylvania then they think it might as well be. Some may say it's boring in Delaware, but I disagree with that.. there is tons to do! It is surrounded by Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Jersey.. anywhere you want to go is within three hours. All the things people like to do in Mississippi, such as going mud riding, having parties every weekend and cookouts & four wheeling are also things that people in Delaware do to have fun.
There is no place like home and Delaware is my home - I love it! Delaware is a mix of that small town charm with some big city attitude. We go to the beach, not the "shore," and we sleep just fine with sand in our beds. We are classy, not grungy, no matter how we dress or what music we listen to. We are high maintenance but we also know how to relax. We don't pay tax and we love Wawa and Capriotti's. We have the charm and grace of the south yet the wit and confidence of the north.
